Ass-Hat of the Week – Anwar Arafat
In the Salt Lake City Tribune Anwar Arafat wrote the piece Killing will beget killing which basically calls Ariel Sharon cowardly for ordering Ahmad Yassin’s death. The extremely weak arguments put for by Mr. Arafat make him the latest recipient of the Ass-Hat of the Week Award.
For the first time in history, a quadriplegic old blind man in a wheelchair who can barely speak or hear is considered a militant and a terrorist.
Not so crippled that he could not order the murder of innocent civilians, including children. Let’s try this from a politically correct stance. Handicapped people should be treated just like everyone else. I’m fine with that. Yassin gets no special consideration because he’s in a wheelchair. That means we can judge him soley by his actions, and as such, he deserved to die. Yassin was never a political leader of a country. He was nothing more than a murdering thug.
Sharon has enraged every Palestinian. Around 300,000 people attended Yassin’s funeral in Gaza City.
Sharon enrages the Palestinians by simply existing, as do all Jews. Nothing he can do will ever change that fact.
Hamas, the organization founded by Yassin, has promised, along with every other Palestinian resistance group, that it will reply with “a volcano of anger and revenge.”
And how is this different from any other day? Hamas has been murdering Israelis for years. No matter what Israel does or does not do, Hamas will kill Israelis.
Let’s skip back to the title of the piece, Killing will beget killing. With Hamas, this is true. But with Hamas, peace will beget killing. We know this is true because Israel tried the peaceful solution after pressure from the United States. Hamas took that opportunity to kill more Israelis.
When reason has failed, force is your only option.
