Ass-Hat of the Week – David Morgan of Reuters
The sorry excuse for a journalist David Morgan of Reuters had this to say about the U.S.’s giantic aid package:
President Bush, under pressure over the pace and scale of American aid to Asian tsunami victims, abruptly raised the U.S. contribution tenfold to $350 million on Friday.
Pressure my ass. The U.S. has always made an initial donation followed by more as the needs are assessed. This is an obvious attempt to keep the “stingy Americans” story alive, even though we all know it is complete bullshit.
For this total failure in journalistic integrity, David Morgan is this weeks recipient of the Ass-Hat of the Week Award.
His full “story” can be read here.

We’ve seen the same thing over here in the UK. The press have nothing better to do than to make stories out of thing air instead of concentrating on the problems at hand. Apparently, all the countries are seeing who can donate the most. When will they ever learn. America will always end up supplying the most aid, help etc, its just a shame that the rest of the world doesn’t see it as genuine help all the time. (I’m a Brit who lived in TX for 3 years, and can’t wait to go back to the US).

I would like to vote on David Morgan getting a new ass-hat-of the week for his terrible article here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060504/us_nm/security_videogames_dc_4
which has proven to be nothing but loose ends tied up to fit his journalistic taste:
