Sometimes you hear of something so outrageous that you question the truthfulness of the initial report.  After verifying that it is indeed true, you wonder why public lynching has gone out of fashion.

The school board for Kenowa Hills in Michigan told a teacher activated for military duty that he must cover the cost of a substitute during part of his absence and give the district some of his military pay.  When I read this, my jaw hit the floor.  How could they even consider this, let alone actually make the demand?

For this completely insane and most likely illegal demand, I hereby award the Kenowa Hills Public School District Board the Ass-Hat of the Week Award.
