Duke Philosophy Department Chair Robert Brandon publicly claimed in the student newspaper, The Chronicle, that conservatives are scarce in academia because stupid people are likely to be conservative.

For this outlandish statement, Robert Brandon is presented the Ass-Hat of the Week Award.

I thought the purpose of philosophy departments were to teach students how to think.  Since this is obviously no longer true, we can now discontinue all university level philosophy departments as they serve no useful purpose.
