Gadgets – Kuerig K-Cup Coffee Maker
Since I love gadgets I thought I’d blog on ones that I have become familiar with.
I love coffee, but making a pot when I only wanted one or two cups was extremely wasteful. So one day I picked up a Kuerig K-Cup coffee maker. Using cartridges, it makes a single cup of coffee in just a few seconds. The reservoir holds enough water for five to ten cups of coffee, depending on the size you select. The “k-cups” are available in a variety of coffee flavors for about $10 for a box of twenty. The cost is slightly higher than if you make coffee by the pot, but ends up saving money when you don’t throw out half a pot all the time. The unit works well and the coffee is decent. Not fabulous, just decent. There’s also no mess to worry about. Just toss out the little “k-cup” after each use. You can also leave out the k-cup to get a quick cup of hot water for cocoa or tea. It’s quick and safe enough for a child to use assuming the kid is bright enough not to put his/her hand under the spout.
The convenience factor makes it well worth the expense. In fact, two friends have since picked up the exact same coffee maker for their homes.
