These terror alert levels are completely useless.  What good is being told that somewhere, somehow, sometime in the next few months, something might happen?  Yeah.  Thanks for the information.

I propose a change to the system.  When the terror alert is raised to a certain level, I propose “orange”, all laws limiting conceal carry are suspended for the duration allowing the average citizen to provide his fellow countrymen added security and giving the terrorists something to think about.

This system would also prevent the government from raising the alert level for frivilous reasons.  From my understanding, alert level “red” allows the government to seriously curtail a person’s right to travel freely – which is a huge violation of the Constitution.  This is why the conceal carry laws need to be suspended before level orange.  Otherwise the government could pull a fast one, yeah, carry the gun, but you aren’t allowed to leave your home.  A fat lot of good that would do us.

I want it to be as difficult as possible for the government to limit my Rights.  I would prefer it to be impossible, but I’m too much of a realist to expect that possibility.
